Summer Reading

Before the kids skedaddle into the summer haze, why not send them off with some great reading suggestions? I'm always impressed with the summer reading lists compiled by the HAISLN (Houston Area Independent Schools Library Network). These books are for children and young adults and are both fiction and non-fiction. You can print the lists in PDF format, or view the lists on Issu where you can see pictures of the books' front covers with their descriptions. These are some of the best summer reading lists out there. Thank you, HAISLN!

  1. Thanks for sharing this link. One of the things that I want to do with my blog is to highlight different books for students to read over the summer. I intended to use the SC Children's Book Award winners list, but I saw some interesting titles in Houston's list that I may read and highlight. I like how the list includes fiction and nonfiction books and that it is broken down by grade level.

  2. Thanks for the link. I love to read the books that my students will be reading- It always surprises them when their math teacher can talk with them about what they are reading! I also find the books suitable for the middle/high school age are highly engaging as well.
